25-26 Weeks!

How far along are you?

25 weeks, 5 Days!

Total weight gain?

Almost 19 lbs, although, I have no idea where all of that weight is!

Baby Information?
Busy and pointy.  Okay, I have no idea about the pointy part, but when she pokes me when I'm teaching, it doesn't always feel great! Heartrate was 145 today and she was laying on my back according to the midwife!  According to The Bump, the baby is the size of a head of lettuce.

Any doctor news?

Blood pressure is 108/54.  The midwife didn't seem too concerned about the bottom number still being so low.  I have to up my iron still, but the midwife said I could do it with diet rather than those nasty iron pills.  I go for my Glucose Tolerance Test on March 8th because Quest doesn't do them on Saturdays... so I have to go to work after.  That ought to be interesting.  She also brought up C-Section since Lucas was so big when I had him at 39 weeks.  I told her that I would like to avoid that, if at all possible.  I didn't exactly LIKE being induced (pre-epidural... after I got it, I really could have cared less what was going on down below!), but it worked out!

Best moment ?

Lucas is OBSESSED with my belly.  We just transitioned him into his "big boy bed", and he looked at my belly yesterday and said, "Hey, Baby Sister! Want to come into my huge bed?"  Priceless.

Worst moment ?

Dealing with different stresses right now.  My motto is: keep calm and just eat... ha ha!

Stretch Marks?
Still no.  Lots of lotion!

Maternity clothes
Goodness, yes! Nothing else fits except pajama pants.  If I could get away with wearing them to school every day, I totally would!

Symptoms
Tired. Weepy. Heartburn.  I basically sleep in the recliner 3-4 nights a week.  Tums are my very best friend, although the midwife told me today that I could take Pepcid for the heartburn!  Yay!

Cravings
Fruit.  I'm on a grape kick... red, green, doesn't matter... maybe the baby knows how much I could use a glass (or 4) of wine!  Peanut butter, too (not with the grapes!).

 Gender?
As far as I know, she is still a girl!

Sleep?
Depends on the night.  If I have heartburn, I sleep like garbage.  If I don't, I have to get up and use the bathroom 4 times a night.

What I miss?

Being able to bend.  I've been doing lots of plies (ballet squats, basically) when I drop things.  Or, if I'm in my classroom, I pick one of my kids and they pick things up for me!

What I'm looking forward to?

The room!  We switched some furniture around over the weekend.  We have a LONG way to go with it.  We have so much stuff and we need to get rid of it.  I have boxes from when I moved down here that I never unpacked!  Thank goodness we have Spring Break at the end of next month!

Mini Update...

It has been an interesting day in 2nd pregnancy land.  I was getting my lunch together this morning and all of a sudden, I felt really lightheaded and hot.  I sat down before I fell down.  Great.  Scott was getting ready for work, so I had to send Lucas running to our room while I was yelling for him to let him know what was going on.  Lucas thought it was fun that I was letting him run around the house!

This fun passing out thing happened a few times when I was pregnant with Lucas, and my poor sister got the brunt of my ACTUALLY passing out in the middle of Motherhood Maternity. So, today I called my OB nurse and she told me that my iron and potassium levels are low and that I need an additional 325mg of iron a day.  Awesome.  She also said that if I am still feeling this lightheaded that she may need to move my 28 Week Glucose Test up to make sure I don't have gestational diabetes.  Even better.  Little sister (as Lucas has dubbed her) doesn't seem to mind that I feel lousy.  She is still her little jumping bean self!

I go for my regular check up on the 18th, and I'm sure they'll let me know what to do next.

Funny Toddler Moments

So, Lucas is a very logical thinker... like, scary logical. The other day, he was trying to climb into his high chair.  Scott and I told him that is was too high, and that he would need a ladder (we were half kidding).  Well, wouldn't you know, yesterday when my mom was watching him, he wanted to eat, but told her he needed to get a ladder.  He brought his little gas truck over to the chair (which has a ladder) and "climbed" it while my mom lifted him into the chair.

This morning, Scott was with him while I (finally) went to have my 1st trimester bloodwork done (umm... 4 months late... oops!).  I got home and Scott was teaching him how to do log rolls and forward rolls.  So funny to watch!  Then, Scott told me that Lucas had made one of his "guys" stand on the gas truck.  Lucas said, "No, guy! That's dangerous! You go to time out!" and put his guy in the recliner.

This kid has a mind of his own, and he's not afraid to use it, for sure! He definitely keeps me laughing!
